What we do in Concord

Comfort and cold storage for Concord.

Concord went from about 79,000 people in 2010 to over 105,000 by 2020. That kind of growth puts a wide spread of equipment in one city. Some of it is brand new. Plenty of it is not.

01 / HOME

Residential HVAC

AC and heat pump repair, furnace service, system replacements and seasonal tune-ups. A newer subdivision house and a century-old place near downtown fail in very different ways. We measure airflow and refrigerant charge on both before giving an opinion. When a part swap will do the job, that's the first thing you hear about.

02 / BUSINESS

Commercial HVAC

Rooftop units, split systems and maintenance plans for offices, retail and light industrial buildings. Concord has a lot of square footage along I-85 and US 29 that depends on rooftop equipment. One weak unit can heat up a whole storefront. We work clean on the roof and inside, then leave the space neater than before.

03 / REFRIGERATION

Commercial Refrigeration

Walk-in coolers and freezers, reach-ins, ice machines and display cases. Restaurants near Concord Mills and the speedway can see huge crowds on event weekends. A cooler that dies during one of those rushes costs real money. We find the failed part, explain the fix in plain words and get you cold again.

Why PPR in Concord

Mill town roots, big-city growth.

Concord became a cotton mill town in the late 1800s. Its old homes still line North and South Union Street. Charlotte Motor Speedway opened in 1959, and Concord Mills followed in 1999. The city now passes 105,000 people. That leaves historic houses with retrofitted ducts on one side of town and fresh builder-grade systems on the other. July highs near 92°F test both.

Hot, sticky summers

Concord gets hot, humid summers. The average July high sits around 92°F, and nights stay near 69°F. Your air conditioner is busy all day pulling moisture out of the house, not only heat. When the coil gets dirty or the airflow drops, rooms feel damp even with the thermostat set low. A plugged condensate drain can also trip a safety switch and shut everything off. Small fixes solve a lot of these. If one room upstairs never cools, call us before shopping for new equipment.

Mild winters favor heat pumps

January in Concord averages highs near 53°F and lows just under 29°F. That makes a heat pump a sensible fit for most houses here, sometimes paired with a gas furnace. A heat pump heats and cools, so it runs most of the year. Outdoor fan motors and defrost controls take the wear. Furnaces have the opposite problem. They sit for months, then get called on during the first cold snap. A fall check catches a weak igniter or a dirty flame sensor before that night arrives. We test parts before we suggest replacing anything.

Historic homes near Union Street

Concord was first settled around 1750. Its older homes range along North and South Union Street and Edgewood Avenue, inside a cluster of named historic districts. Houses like these were never built with central air in mind. The ducts got added later, usually through a crawlspace. We often find short returns and leaky joints dumping cool air under the floor. Sealing and resizing a few runs can change how a room feels. When a new system really is the answer, we lay out the options side by side so you can choose.

Race weekends and rooftops

Concord Mills is known as North Carolina's largest single-site tourist attraction. It sits about a mile from Charlotte Motor Speedway. Both draw big crowds, and the restaurants and shops around them feel it. Hot weather plus a full dining room means rooftop units run nonstop while walk-in coolers keep opening and closing. Our maintenance visits focus on clean condenser coils and weak parts you can replace early. When a unit fails anyway, you call the owner directly.

Concord HVAC questions

What Concord folks ask us

Do you work all over Concord?

Yes. We go from downtown and the Union Street area out to Concord Mills and the neighborhoods along I-85. Cabarrus County is part of our regular route. Call 704-388-0851 and you'll reach the people who do the actual work.

My heat pump is getting old. Repair it or replace it?

That depends on what broke. A failed capacitor or fan motor is usually a straightforward repair. A dead compressor on an aging unit is a bigger talk. We diagnose first, then show you repair and replacement options with prices. The decision stays with you.

Why is my older house near downtown hard to cool?

Many older Concord homes had ductwork added long after they were built. Those ducts can be undersized or leaky, especially in crawlspaces. Cool air ends up under the floor instead of in the bedroom. We trace the airflow and fix the weak spots before suggesting any new equipment.

Do you service restaurant coolers and ice machines?

We do. Commercial refrigeration is one of our three trades, and walk-ins, reach-ins and ice machines are regular work for us. Busy spots near Concord Mills and the speedway can't wait around. We explain what failed and what the repair takes before starting.

When is the best time for a tune-up?

Spring works best for cooling, and fall is right for heating. Concord July highs average near 92°F, while January nights dip below freezing. Both seasons put hard hours on your system.
